What is on the ICS exam syllabus?
Two blocks: a common (transversal) syllabus of 11 topics that applies to every category, and your own category's syllabus, published in its annex. Nursing (A2-129) has 8 topics and nursing assistant (C2-159) has 5. Both are published in the DOGC with the call.
The common syllabus is 11 topics that apply to every category in the call:
- LOSC, SISCAT and the Health Plan of Catalonia
- The Institut Català de la Salut as a public undertaking: legal regime, organisation and statutes
- Citizens' rights and duties, and data protection
- The framework statute for statutory health-service staff
- The public employee statute (EBEP) and the III Health Sector Board Agreement
- Professional career, management by objectives and variable pay
- Occupational risk prevention
- Sexual and sex-based harassment: prevention and action protocol
- Effective equality of women and men, and gender violence
- Bioethics and professional secrecy
- Quality (PDCA cycle), office IT, intranet and e-administration
The category syllabus is what decides the paper. Nursing has 8 topics built around the care process, assessment, procedures and care by life stage and health problem; nursing assistant has 5, built around auxiliary care, hygiene and instrument cleaning, safety and patient care.
Mind the weighting: across the seven published papers the common syllabus is only 3 to 10 % of the test questions. The category syllabus decides the rest.

What is not known yet
The official syllabus is the one in the DOGC annexes. Our index follows it, but the order and grouping of the content are our decisions, and when a regulation changes we update the content without waiting for a new call.
