How does the ICS merit phase score?

The short answer

The merit phase is worth 50 points on top of the 100 of the exam. 60 % of it (30 points) is professional experience and 40 % (20 points) is curricular merits. Every full month at the ICS or another national health service in the same category is worth 0.358 points; at SISCAT or other administrations, half that (0.179 points, capped at 15).

ExperiencePer full monthCap
At the ICS and other national health services, in the same category as the call0.358 points30 points
At SISCAT, other public administrations and university care centres, in a comparable category0.179 points15 points

Months are computed by dividing the days credited by 30.41 (365/12) and taking the whole part.

At 0.358 points a month, the 30-point ceiling is reached after 84 months: seven years of ICS service. Anyone without that experience arrives at the list with a gap that only an exam mark can close — and the exam is the part of the process that is actually in your hands.

The 20 curricular points split differently by professional group:

  • Groups A1 and A2 (nursing): passing a previous competitive process without securing a post, 5 points; doctorate 3.2 points, official master's or own specialty 2.4 points (cap 8); continuing education 0.017 points per hour up to 300 hours (cap 5); Catalan above the level required, 1 point; ACTIC digital skills, up to 1 point.
  • Other groups (nursing assistant): passing a previous competitive process without securing a post, 5 points; continuing education 0.044 points per hour up to 300 hours (cap 13); Catalan above the level required, 1 point; ACTIC, up to 1 point.

Requirements never count as merits: the Catalan certificate you need to take part scores nothing, only one above it does. And the merit phase is not eliminatory — if you do not pass both exam exercises, your merits are never even counted.
